New-build single-family house conceived through a direct relationship with its surroundings and climate.
The project is organised through the creation of different indoor and outdoor environments, carefully oriented according to solar exposure, allowing for a changing way of inhabiting the house throughout the day and across the seasons. The architecture opens up and protects itself selectively, always seeking a balance between views, privacy and comfort.
The Mediterranean character of the material palette reinforces this integration with the landscape, while the intermediate spaces —porches, terraces and transitions— take on a central role in everyday life.
A contrast was sought in this project between smooth white finishes and traditional stone-clad surfaces.
In the main living area, a sheet of water connected to the porch introduces an active climatic element, bringing freshness during the warmer months and reinforcing the continuity between architecture and its surroundings.
